Iron West
My 7th grader loves this author. He did not love this book, he wasn't sure he followed the story.
Because miners, a metal alien ball, murderous mined robot men, a wanted human man, a prostitute, a sheriff, a shaman, Sasquatch, the Loch Ness Monster, "engines", and a train turned into a giant robot man all makes perfect sense.
He asked me to read it (thank goodness that took all of 20 minutes, maybe). We discussed it. The boy did understand—but it was too odd for him too. We did have a good laugh about the cra-cra story though.
